Kay Frances designs

The category we named New Mexico represents the state where we are located. New Mexico is
rich in flavor from our food and our multi-cultural community. Prior to the Spanish incursion in
the 1600’s the land of enchantment had several pueblos established along the Rio Grande. The
pueblo people used turquoise as a representative of good will and fortune. The ZIA sign comes
from the Zuni people. New Mexico has adopted this symbol as our state insignia. We have
various depictions in pins, pendants, earrings, and bolo ties.
